SurplusGLOBAL, Inc. announced its support of Team Korea, as the team took further steps forward towards mounting its challenge for the America’s Cup World Series in San Francisco from Aug 21 to Aug 26, 2012. 
The America's Cup World Series Season Two kicks off in the summer of 2012 in the United States. The opening event will be in San Francisco from August 21-26, 2012. The America’s Cup is one of the most recognisable sporting properties in the world.  The awareness of the trophy extends beyond the niche sport that is yacht racing and touches a wider audience.

For the first time in its 160-year history, a challenge has been made by a South Korean Yacht Club for the America’s Cup, the oldest trophy in international sports. The Sail Korea Yacht Club, represented by Team Korea, has been officially accepted as a challenger for the 34th America’s Cup.
Team Korea will be known as the ‘White Tiger Challenge’. The White Tiger, or ‘Baekho’ in Korean, is one of the revered ancient guardian gods in Korean mythology, ferocious and potent, a fitting image for a team from one of the world’s major industrial nations with long term America’s Cup ambitions.
Team Korea helmsman, Nathan Outteridge of Australia has secured his status as Olympic champion in the 49er class, set to stand atop the podium along with sailing partner Iain Jensen in Weymouth on Wednesday (8th August).
