What's your name? My Korean name is Sang-Hyun Yu. and my English name is Eddie Yu. Tell a little bit about yourself! I started working at SurplusGLOBAL as a contract worker in April 2012. I started my 30s at SurplusGLOBAL and now I'm in my 40s. Being able to grow with a growing company was one of the best experiences of my life. What role do you play in a team at SurplusGLOBAL? I'm working on logistics activities in SurplusGLOBAL and related to inventory and warehouse management. I support sales activities so that the supply chain can flow smoothly in the field. And I'm in charge of streamlining and optimizing these activities. What are 3 positive things about you? Rather than saying it's a positive part of me, Let me tell you some of the good habits I've gained from working at SurplusGLOBAL. Through a free discussion atmosphere and transparent decision-making process, I gained responsibility for my work, and as my colleagues shared a lot of news and data and participated in the decision-making process, my view of the world and work changed. Through the company's numerous books and the company's atmosphere of not sparing investment in personal competence development, I gained the habit of reading books and trying to develop myself. And as I align the company's growth and individual development, I changed my attitude toward work. How would you like to define being part of SurplusGLOBAL team? Would you like to say something to your future colleagues? I would like to answer the above two questions as one. I really agree with the phrase "We don't hire, we look for our colleagues". We wanted to be adults who could do everything quickly in our childhood. However, after becoming an adult, we miss our childhood again when I was free from responsibility and able to rely on our parents. When we become adults, it means that we have to take responsibility for everything we do as much as the freedom we get. Not as much as a leading company, but if you work at Supplus Global, you will enjoy many freedoms such as flexible working hours, equal relationships, transparency in decision-making, open discussion methods, and autonomy in decision-making. However, it means that the responsibility increases. But, the responsibility is not entirely on the individual. The responsibilities are divided into teams. So, we consider our colleagues important. We need colleagues who will make a great company that enjoys freedom and grows together. “We go together.” Have you ever seen the same movie more than twice at a theater? I really like the movie “The Shawshank Redemption”. It's one of the movies that I still watch whenever I have time to time. One of the most popular scenes is when Tim Robbins(Andy Dufresne) escapes and gets rained on. However, this movie reminds me of many scenes and lines. There are various messages about the meaning of life and human psychology in the movie, but my favorite message of movie is that it makes me feel how important it is to have a hoping & dream to find the meaning of life. So one of my favorite lines is "Hope is goodthing." When Tim Robbins (Dufresne) comes out of solitary and tells Morgen Freeman (Red) about hope but Red says “Hope is dangerous thing. However, Tim Robbins (Dufresne) says to Red in a letter at the end of the movie. "Hope is goodthing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies." Since the entire message of the movie cannot be summarized in few sentences, I recommend watching the movie.^^ I'm going to wrap up with a short sentence.
