1. What's your name?

I am Leo Choi, Shingi Choi in Korean.

2. Tell a little bit about yourself!

I have been working in SurplusGLOBAL for two and a half years. I have always been willing to be a Sales representative and applied for many companies in other fields.

Now I am working in the semiconductor market especially back-end tools.

3. What role do you play in a team at SurplusGLOBAL?

I am in charge of PKG tools of the Back-end team (also known as Team3). Our team consists of SG Evan Kim (team leader), SG Daniel Nam the Marketing Manager in charge of ATE, and myself. Due to the nature of back-end sales job, we handle a lot of bidding cases. I have counted all the bidding cases that I handled as a Project Manager last night, and it was over 50 cases.

It is exhausting handling so many deals and bids, however, what gives me the energy to keep going on is the news that "WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED". I always have been and also doing my very best to take responsibility for every deal even if it is time-consuming and tough.

4. What are 3 amazing things that have happened in your life?

1) When I have acquired the certificate of Customer Satisfaction Instructor.

It was a new opportunity for me. Frankly speaking, I was very interested in a job related to the customer service industry (B2C Market). I once have tried to become a steward but gave up once I found out the reality.

In my twenties years, I have worked as VIP tour guide in a theme park. During that period, I had the opportunity to acquire the CS instructor certificate. It was the first time for me to take up the gauntlet something new.

It took me a month to complete online courses, five days to complete off-line courses. I also had to pass a written exam as well as a practical exam to pass the whole course. It was an exceptionally amazing moment in my life. Of course, I use the skills that I have learned through this course when I participate in sales activities.

2) When I have received a driving license.

Frankly speaking, I am the kind of person who never had an interest in driving. However, on the final interview day of SG, Human Resource Manage advised me to get a driving license before joining SG.

As I ran a red light, I failed the first practical exam but had my license in my hand at the second chance. Now I fully understand why HR Manager told me to get a license.

Our team has a lot of works that need to be done outside of the office. In this June, very busy season, I drove 4000KM(2500miles). Well I found a new hobby, "Driving"

3) When I received a phone call from my university saying they will give me four years full scholarship.

My dad's firm child education plan was to stop every financial support since the time that my brother and I become an adult. We are the ones who have to take responsibility for our own life.

The tuition was no exception. I had a very bad headache as I needed to pay tuition which was over USD5K per one semester. Also In 2010, there was no sufficient government support like student loans.

At the moment I nearly gave upon going to university, I got the one phone call saying I was selected as a 4-year full scholarship student. Thanks to that phone call, I ended up being a member of SG.

5. How would you like to define being part of SurplusGLOBAL team?

Working in SG is very tough as there are many things to study and many work to handle. However, everyone can learn fast within the same period of working in other company.

You can surely see yourself growing and improving every day. we only live once, we need to learn as much as we can.

6. Would you like to say something to your future colleagues?

The very best thing about working in SG is that everyone is willing to listen and follow the extensive opinion of PIC. if the decision is rational SG allows the PIC to make their own decision whether PIC is a newcomer or team leader.

Of course, it will come with the responsibility. However, isn't it common sense that you have to take responsibility for decision you make?

7. What is the motto of Team 3?

No contact, no gain, and no biz chance," said by SG Evan Kim (Team Leader)

All of our team members always keep this sentence in our mind while handling our work.

We firstly contact anyone whether it is sales related or not, we consider the result as the second priority. We all know it is really important for sales representatives to make sales and profits first, However, whether we succeed or not, if we continue contacting people and it will build up our network. I also strongly believe that this action will definitely bring the business chance for the future.
